When I first started teaching English in Japan, I met many people who had studied English for years but still felt unsure when speaking. Many told me they felt hesitant to make mistakes or were uncomfortable meeting a new teacher each lesson. I realized that what they needed wasn’t more textbooks — they needed a safe and friendly place to practice.
Over the years, I’ve taught in elementary schools, at Eikaiwa schools, and at universities. Through these experiences, one thing became clear to me: everyone learns in a different way, and lessons should match the individual, not the system.
That idea is what motivated the creation of Nitty English — a school where people can get to know their teacher, improve their English speaking confidence and learn at their own pace. The lessons are shaped around an individual\'s goals. When students feel more comfortable and understood, they are able to speak more naturally. They are able to make steady, but real progress. Our team follows this same teaching approach, using practical and real-life role-plays enabling learners to use English the same way they would use it in everyday situations.
At Nitty English, we value each person not only as a customer, but also as a student whom we genuinely want to support. Our goal is simple: to provide a warm, friendly and dependable environment where anyone can build English speaking confidence, step by step, and communicate more comfortably in their daily lives. If you feel the same way about learning English, we would be happy to support you.
